Floyd County Coroner Matthew Tomlin confirmed Moore's death but did not share additional details on the circumstances. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday, and authorities said there was no threat to the public. Moore, a receiver and return specialist, was drafted in the second round out of Purdue University and played his first three years in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals.
In 2024, Moore dislocated his right knee during training camp with the Atlanta Falcons and never played for them. He attempted a comeback with Minnesota in 2025 but suffered an injury while returning a punt in the exhibition game. University of Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm, who coached Moore at Purdue, described him as an "ultimate competitor who wouldn't back down" from a challenge.
