Moore was a former All-American on the gridiron at Purdue and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played three seasons with the Cardinals before being traded to the Atlanta Falcons for the 2024 season. He spent the past season with the Vikings but missed both the 2024 and 2025 seasons due to injuries. Moore's former head coach at Purdue, Jeff Brohm, released a statement regarding the player's death Saturday night.
"Rondale Moore was a complete joy to coach," wrote Brohm. "The ultimate competitor that would never back down to any challenge. Rondale had an unmatched work ethic. A great teammate who would come through in any situation. We all loved Rondale, and we loved his smile and competitive edge that always wanted to please everyone he came in contact with. We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family and we love him very much."
Moore is the second NFL star to die within the past four months via self-inflicted gunshot wound, after Marshawn Kneeland took his own life in November. If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
