Scherzer's daughter's Blue Jays letter 'cutest thing'

Max Scherzer called his daughter's letter to the Blue Jays asking for his return 'the cutest thing you can possibly imagine' after agreeing to a $3 million, one-year contract to rejoin the team.

The handwritten note from Scherzer's 8-year-old daughter, Brooke, was written while she was composing a letter to Santa Claus. 'Dear Blue Jays,' the note began, 'I am so sorry that you didn't win the World Series. I hope that you win next time. I hope my dad is back on the team.'

Scherzer said the letter was a factor in his decision to return to the team that came close to winning the World Series last season.
