Cardinals to Release Kyler Murray, Adding QB Market Option

Kyler Murray will be released by the Arizona Cardinals on March 11, ending his tenure after a 3‑14 season and a foot injury that sidelined him for the rest of 2023.

Murray confirmed his release in a social‑media post, thanking fans and family for their support. He said he had hoped to end the Cardinals’ 77‑year drought but admitted he fell short.

The Cardinals finished 3‑14, fired coach Jonathan Gannon, and saw Murray miss most of the season after a foot injury. With $36.8 million guaranteed, the move opens a new option in the quarterback market.
