The club is looking to offload three defenders – Nahuel Molina, Clement Lenglet and Jose Maria Gimenez – as part of a squad overhaul under new Sporting Director Mateu Alemany. Molina, who joined for €20m from Udinese, has struggled to meet expectations, while Lenglet’s game time has dropped since the arrival of David Hancko and Marc Pubill. Gimenez, who has agreed to depart after the World Cup, has attracted interest from clubs in Argentina and Italy.
Atletico are also monitoring Palmeiras right‑back Agustin Giay as a potential replacement for Molina. The club has been tracking Giay for several years and could consider him if a suitable offer materializes.
