Today in White Sox History: March 2

On this day 125 years ago, Billy Sullivan began a 13-year career with the Chicago White Sox, while Moe Berg was born in New York City.

Known as a glove-first catcher with the league's best arm, Billy Sullivan finished his career with 12.4 defensive WAR. Despite a subpar .213 average, he briefly managed the team in 1909.

Also born on this date, Moe Berg played 279 games for the White Sox. The shortstop-turned-catcher compiled a -0.2 WAR, but his strong arm caught nearly half of attempted base stealers.
