Pavan Released From Hospital After Elevator Shaft Fall

Andrea Pavan has been discharged from the hospital in South Africa, one week after falling three stories down an elevator shaft.

The 36-year-old golfer underwent surgery for shoulder and back injuries, including fractures to several vertebrae, following the accident. Pavan will remain in South Africa for approximately five more weeks of rehabilitation before traveling back to the United States.

Pavan was in South Africa for the DP World Tour's Investec South African Open when the accident occurred. He called for an elevator but stepped into the shaft when the doors opened, as the car was not present. While his return to golf is uncertain, Pavan expressed gratitude for the support received and noted that being able to walk is a 'miracle' in his recovery.
