Finebaum Urges Action at Trump Sports Roundtable

Paul Finebaum is calling for meaningful action from next week's White House roundtable on college sports, warning the sport is becoming 'unmanageable' without quick changes.

SEC Network host Paul Finebaum emphasized the urgency of President Donald Trump's March 6 roundtable with college athletics power players, including Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, commissioners Tiger Woods and Adam Silver. 'If something doesn't happen very quickly, and I mean in the next short period of time, then this thing could blow up,' Finebaum said on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning.

The meeting addresses growing frustrations around NIL, the transfer portal, and overall structure of college athletics. Finebaum supports the gathering but questions whether it will produce real change or just be another 'show,' noting that Trump's previous executive order in July didn't yielded results. 'There are really a lot of angry people inside the bubble,' he said, though stopped short of predicting a breakup of the sport.
