After a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace, Manchester United edged ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference, but manager Michael Carrick and captain Bruno Fernandes said the table position should not lead to premature celebration.

Manager Michael Carrick said the table position “doesn’t mean an awful lot at the moment” and urged the team to keep progressing.
