WNBA Union Sends Counterproposal with Revenue Sharing and Housing Concessions

The WNBA players’ union has sent a counterproposal to the league, proposing 26% of gross revenue and revised housing provisions, with a deadline of March 10 to secure a season start.

The union’s offer, sent a week after the league’s counter, keeps the 26% share of gross revenue and reduces the earlier 27.5% demand. It also maintains a housing requirement for all players in the early years, but removes the obligation for teams to house players earning at least 75% of the maximum salary in later years.

If a deal is reached by the March 10 deadline, the CBA would likely be signed by month‑end, allowing the expansion draft for Portland and Toronto to take place in early April and free‑agent negotiations to begin mid‑April.
