Last-Place Wolves Stun Third-Place Villa 2-0

Premier League bottom side Wolverhampton secured a surprising 2-0 victory over third-placed Aston Villa, with João Gomes scoring both goals.

Wolverhampton, who occupy last place in the Premier League, produced a major upset by defeating third-placed Aston Villa 2-0 on Friday evening. The first goal came 15 minutes into the second half when Adam Armstrong provided a brilliant assist, allowing João Gomes to score from 16 meters out. The Brazilian doubled his tally later in the match to seal the victory.

Aston Villa had a chance to reduce the deficit when a shot was cleared off the line in stoppage time, but they never seriously threatened the Wolves' lead. Norwegian player David Møller Wolfe remained on the bench for the entire match.
