Kadri Powers Flames Past Sharks

Nazem Kadri scored two goals and Connor Zary added the go-ahead tally as the Calgary Flames defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-1 in their first game back from the Olympic break.

Nazem Kadri scored twice, including an insurance goal, to lead the Calgary Flames to a 4-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. Connor Zary broke a tie early in the third period, while Mikael Backlund added an empty-net goal.

Dustin Wolf made 34 saves for the Flames, improving to 10-2 in his career against San Jose. Tyler Toffoli scored the lone goal for the Sharks, who fell to 1-12-2 when star Macklin Celebrini doesn't record a point. San Jose, five points out of a playoff spot, lost the opener of a crucial six-game homestand.
