Real Madrid advance past Benfica with Vini Jr double

Real Madrid secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals by defeating Benfica 2-1 on Wednesday, winning the tie 3-1 on aggregate thanks to a brace from Vinícius Júnior.

Despite the absence of Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid overcame an early goal from Andreas Schjelderup to level through Aurélien Tchouaméni before Vinícius Júnior sealed the victory with 10 minutes remaining.

The Spanish giants are now set to face either Sporting Lisbon or Manchester City in the next round of the competition.
