UConn Coach Hurley Calls Defense 'A Joke' After Loss

UConn coach Dan Hurley sharply criticized his team's defensive effort after an 91-84 loss to unranked Creighton on Wednesday, calling the performance 'a joke'.

Despite freshman Braylon Mullins scoring a game-high 25 points despite an injury, Hurley lamented the team's poor defensive execution from the opening tip. 'Our defense has been so bad. We've been playing with fire,' Hurley said, noting Creighton's 45 first-half points. The Huskies face a challenging upcoming schedule with games against No. 2 Villanova and No. 3 St. John's in the Big East.
