Edward Cabrera made a flawless debut, striking out six Guardians batters, while Dansby Swanson homered and drove in three as the Cubs edged the Guardians 8-6.

Cabrera threw 20 strikes in 31 pitches, striking out six Guardians batters and retiring all six he faced in his first Cubs start.

Swanson delivered a two‑run homer and an RBI single, driving in three runs. The bullpen, except for a shaky outing by Porter Hodge, held the Guardians scoreless, and the Cubs secured an 8‑6 victory.
