Could 49ers' DT be a free agent target for the Titans?

The Tennessee Titans need depth across the board, and will finally be able to add some talent in a week once the opening stages of NFL free agency kick off.

On Monday, a new target for their defensive line became available when inside Jordan Schultz reported that the San Francisco 49ers were not going to tender restricted free agent defensive tackle Kalia Davis.

Davis started all 17 regular-season games for Robert Saleh and the 49ers and set career-highs in multiple categories, including combined tackles (28), tackles for loss (four), batted balls (three), and quarterback hits (two). The former sixth-round pick out of UCF was a big surprise throughout the season, helping keep the injury-riddled defense afloat.

The Titans have been mentioned in connection with multiple defensive linemen throughout the offseason as they look to add some impact players to the defense after trading away T’Vondre Sweat, and with Sebastian Joseph-Day and James Lynch as unrestricted free agents heading into the new league year.

While Denver Broncos free agent defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers has been the most recent player mentioned, there is no doubt that the Titans will have to add multiple defensive linemen to the roster throughout the offseason, and Davis could be a likely target.
