Arsenal’s two set-piece goals against Chelsea on Sunday brought the team to 16 goals from corners in the Premier League this season, with OptaJoe reporting that this is the joint-most by any side in a single campaign.
Arsenal themselves were already one of the joint record holders, having also scored 16 corner goals in the 2023/24 campaign. The other two teams were Oldham Athletic in 1992/93 and West Bromwich Albion in 2016/17.
The Gunners now just need one more corner goal from the final nine games of the Premier League campaign to become the outright record holders.

Perhaps the primary beneficiary of this set-piece dominance is also the man behind the Gunners’ success, with James McNicholas reporting for The Athletic that Arsenal set-piece coach Nicolas Jover has a bonus clause in his contract for goals from dead-ball situations.
With Jover proving a man in demand when Arsenal last held his contract extension talks, he managed to negotiate the add-on clause in his new deal, signed last year.
Counting not just corners but all set-piece situations, Arsenal lead the Premier League with 21 goals. That’s plenty of bonus payouts for Jover already this campaign.

Arsenal will hope to keep scoring from corners in the final games of the campaign, breaking the record, securing some more positive results, and netting Jover some extra cash along the way.
