Kerolin Absence Before Barcelona Move

Manchester City were taken aback when forward Kerolin failed to report for pre-season training in July before her transfer to Barcelona was finalized.

The Brazil international, 26, did not show up for training with the WSL champions before her move to Barcelona had been agreed. The Catalan club announced her signing on Tuesday, but City waited until Thursday evening before making any reference to the transfer.

City eventually confirmed they had received a Women's Super League record fee for the sale, more than 48 hours after Barcelona's announcement. The delay in acknowledging the deal surprised observers given the high-profile nature of the transfer. ipl-today.in
