Spain v Argentina: First Slovene Referee in World Cup Final

Slavko Vincic will make history as the first Slovene to referee a World Cup final when Spain faces Argentina in New Jersey on Sunday.

Vincic, 46, previously officiated the 2024 Champions League final and Spain’s Euro 2024 semi-final against France.

His World Cup history includes Argentina's opening loss to Saudi Arabia in 2022, and he has averaged 2.33 yellow cards per game, notably showing Piero Hincapié a red card against Mexico for covering his mouth. librea.one
