Derek Stingley to gift alma mater new turf field

Houston Texans cornerback Derek Stingley is funding a new turf field at his Louisiana alma mater, Dunham School, with construction beginning in May 2026 and completion expected by August 2026.

The field, named the Derek Stingley, Jr. Field, will feature a state-of-the-art synthetic playing surface, enhanced drainage systems, and dedicated space for football, PE classes, and athletic training needs. The 2019 Dunham graduate and 2018 Gatorade Louisiana Player of the Year said he is "happy to give back to a place that generously invested in me." newsindata.org

Dunham School ended the 2025 season with a 13-2 record and was ranked No. 38 in Louisiana. The private Christian college-preparatory institution serves students from pre-K to 12th grade in Baton Rouge.
