Former champs Pocklington Town quit league over player crisis

Former league champions Pocklington Town FC have withdrawn from the Humber Premier League due to a critical lack of squad numbers.

The club cited long-term injuries and a decline in participation in senior men's football as key factors. Secretary Richard Bower noted that while junior and ladies' teams are thriving, the open-age section is struggling with players' busy social schedules.

In a statement, the club expressed their reluctance to leave after 20 years and confirmed they are focusing on rebuilding their senior section.
