This marks the second-most watched hockey game in NBC history, trailing only the 2010 overtime thriller between the same nations that drew 27.6 million viewers.

The Milan Cortina Olympics overall averaged 23.5 million viewers, becoming the most-watched Winter Games since 2014 and making it the first Winter Olympics where every day of competition topped 20 million viewers. The U.S. women's hockey team also delivered strong ratings with their 2-1 overtime victory over Canada averaging 5.3 million viewers.
