Michael Phelps, the most decorated swimmer in history, has revealed he doesn't want his children to follow in his swimming footsteps due to the mental health challenges he faced throughout his 20-year career.

During an interview with Whoop Podcast, Phelps opened up about his struggles with depression and anxiety, explaining that he doesn't want his children to experience the same pressures and mental health issues he endured. The Olympic champion also criticized what he perceives as a lack of leadership within the US swimming team.

Phelps, who has won 28 Olympic medals, including 23 golds, also discussed the future of American swimming for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, offering insights on what improvements he believes are necessary for the team to succeed.
