Braves Extend Chris Sale Through 2027

The Atlanta Braves have signed ace pitcher Chris Sale to a one‑year, $27 million extension that includes a 2028 club option, keeping him in Atlanta through 2027.

Sale, 36, will earn $27 million for the 2027 season after a $22 million contract in 2026. The deal includes a club option for $30 million in 2028.

Sale posted a 61 ERA‑, 67 FIP‑, and 73 xFIP‑ season in 2026, earning 3.6 fWAR in 125 ⅔ innings. He joined the Braves in 2024 for the 2024 NL Cy Young Award and has delivered 10.0 fWAR in 303 ⅓ innings.
