Steelers' Wagner, Steel Curtain DB, dies at 76

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Mike Wagner, who played a significant role in the team's Steel Curtain dynasty, has died at 76, the franchise announced Wednesday.

Wagner, who recorded interceptions in the Steelers' first two Super Bowl victories (IX and X), was part of four championship teams during his 10-season career with the team. He was drafted in the 11th round in 1971 and finished with 36 interceptions and two Pro Bowl selections.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II praised Wagner's toughness and consistency, calling him 'a tremendous player and an integral part of some of the most successful teams in Pittsburgh Steelers history.' No cause of death was provided.
