Bowles No Reaction to Mayfield Contract Comments

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles had no reaction to quarterback Baker Mayfield's public contract comments, saying the team is focused on football and has moved on.

On Friday, Bowles addressed Mayfield's remarks about his contract situation from the previous day. 'I didn't have a reaction,' Bowles told reporters. 'You know, he had a few things to say. He said it. We're all about ball today, and we moved on.'

From Bowles's perspective, Mayfield's status beyond 2026 doesn't matter. With 10 head-coaching jobs potentially opening after the 2025 season, the NFL is a year-to-year business.
