Mets Keep Mendoza Despite Poor Start

Mets GM David Stearns confirmed the team won't fire manager Carlos Mendoza despite their 10-21 record and 12-game losing streak.

Stearns told MLB.com, 'We know our record is not what we want, and we know we are capable of more. We don't view this as a manager problem, and we don't intend to make a change.' Mendoza is in the final guaranteed year of his three-year deal with a club option for 2027.

The announcement puts pressure back on the players, who have a 0-88 record when trailing after eight innings. Stearns executed an ambitious offseason plan, but most of the new players have underperformed expectations. xsportfeed.life
