Former UConn star Emeka Okafor had his jersey number retired in a ceremony at the university, making him just the third men's basketball player in the program's history to receive this distinction. The honor recognizes Okafor's outstanding collegiate career and contributions to the Huskies.
Okafor, who played for UConn from 2001-2004, led the team to the 2004 NCAA championship and was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. His number will now hang in the rafters at Gampel Pavilion alongside other Huskies legends.
