“Dressing room atmosphere has always been relaxed…”: Kashi Rudras’ Kartik Yadav ahead of do-or-die clash against Noida Kings

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 2 (ANI): With Kashi Rudras preparing for a do-or-die clash against Noida Kings in the UPT20 League 2026 playoffs on Thursday, left-arm spinner Kartik Yadav said the defending champions are in a “cool, relaxed, calm, and composed” frame of mind as they look to keep their title defence alive. albergomalica.it

Kashi Rudras endured a difficult phase in the league stage, losing four matches in a row, but recovered strongly to secure a playoff berth. Kartik believes the team has learnt from those setbacks and remains confident of going all the way.

“The dressing room atmosphere of Kashi Rudras has always been very cool, relaxed, calm, and composed. There is a different energy. It feels like we all players are sitting together, having good chats. There are very good talks with positivity," Kartik told ANI.

Kashi Rudras will face Noida Kings in the must-win Eliminator clash in Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium, with the losing side eliminated from the title race. Kartik said the team has learned not to lose hope during difficult phases of a tournament.

“In the beginning we were winning matches, but in between there was a downfall when we lost four matches. From that, we learned that we should never be let down. We play as a team, as a unit, so we should not be let down if we are losing because these ups and downs keep happening in cricket. So, we should never lose hope; we should never give up; we should keep going, and obviously, we will win the final," he said.

Kartik, 19, has been one of Kashi Rudras’ promising performers this season, picking up 10 wickets. He produced his best performance in the final league-stage match against Meerut Mavericks, returning figures of 3/12 in four overs to help his side bowl out the table-toppers for 119 in a 56-run victory.

“It always feels good to contribute to the team, whether in this match or any match. I try to give my 100% as a bowler, as a batter, and as a fielder for the team. So, the contribution was very good, and we won; it was a good positive sign. Now we will play in Lucknow, so our team is quite up," Kartik said.

The youngster, who hails from Prayagraj, has risen through the domestic system after training in Ghaziabad and playing Under-19 cricket before breaking into the UP domestic set-up. He made his Ranji Trophy debut last season and also had a stint as a net bowler with Delhi Capitals.

Kartik also said playing alongside experienced players at Kashi Rudras has helped him understand the demands of higher-level cricket.

“I am a youngster, and they have been playing at a higher level for a long time where I want to reach. So from them, I get to learn about discipline, how to create a cricketing environment, how to handle pressure, what you can do better in which situation, how to become a better person, how to become a better player. All these things are there to learn, and it has helped a lot. I have been in Kashi for two years, this is my second year, so the captain and staff, everyone has helped me a lot," he said.

Kartik, who looks up to Ravindra Jadeja as a complete player and Hardik Pandya for his mindset, also said he prefers focusing on his present rather than setting long-term targets.

“I haven’t planned anything like that; no one knows what will happen in the future. It’s in our hands what we can do better now in our practice, or on the field and off the field, how we can improve day by day. So I focus more on that; I never plan for the future," he said.

He also recalled his Ranji Trophy debut last year, where he claimed a five-wicket haul, describing it as a dream moment while acknowledging the challenge of competing against experienced domestic players.

The winner of Kashi Rudras and Noida Kings will face the loser of the other playoff clash between Meerut Mavericks and Lucknow Falcons for a place in the final. The title decider is scheduled for September 6. (ANI)

The Brazil buzz is well and truly here

India vs Brazil

Tickets went live at 4pm on Thursday. The author was alert and logged into the ticketing app sharp at 4pm, but could not get in as the app crashed under the heavy load. Three minutes later, when access was finally restored, there was another shock waiting. The queue had already stretched to 8,530 people.

A quick call to a friend brought some envy, as he was placed 3,421st in the queue. But even that did not guarantee a ticket. Most of the tickets in the Rs 999 to Rs 3,500 price range were sold out within a few minutes, leaving many fans disappointed.

Ticket prices range from Rs 999 to Rs 15,000. As per reports, 40,000 sellable tickets were made available, with the lower-priced slabs snapped up within an hour of the online window opening on the District app for the match at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

The tickets are priced at Rs 999, Rs 2,000, Rs 2,500, Rs 3,500, Rs 4,500, Rs 6,000, Rs 7,000, Rs 9,000 and Rs 15,000 for VIP seats. VYBK has a seating capacity of around 65,000, with 40,000 tickets put on sale. The organisers are expected to make an approximate profit of Rs 30 crore from ticket sales for the Brazil game alone.

Tickets for the other two friendlies are yet to be released.

Like the recent Durand Cup, the tickets are M-Tickets, meaning fans will not have to collect or redeem physical tickets before the game. They can enter the stadium directly by showing the QR code on the app, which will be unlocked on the day of the fixture at 2pm.

While some fans were ecstatic after managing to get their hands on tickets, others were left disappointed, with most of the tickets priced below Rs 6,000 selling out quickly.

“I was in the queue from 4pm sharp, but unfortunately, when my turn came, I was left looking for tickets priced between Rs 2,500 and Rs 9,000. I couldn’t grab any,” said Krishanu Chowdhury of Kolkata.

“I am a big fan of Vinicius Junior and Carlo Ancelotti, and I can’t wait to be in the stands for this historic friendly in October,” said an ecstatic Arijit Roy of Kolkata after securing his tickets.

The frenzy over the tickets has once again brought back memories of the Lionel Messi event in December 2025, which generated huge excitement across the country. Once again, it has shown just how passionate and committed Kolkata’s football crowd remains.

The five-time world champions are expected to arrive in Kolkata on September 30 from Australia, where they are scheduled to play two friendlies during the international window. The Selecao are expected to arrive with a 96-member contingent, including players and support staff, for the friendly.

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti is set to announce his squad for the three friendlies on September 9.

Player of the Match

Chamari Athapaththu | Sri Lanka

Yeah, definitely. First of all, I want to appreciate Nilakshi’s knock. She played really good cricket; I’m happy to share with her this Player of the Match award.

Yeah, definitely. Actually, I saw the way Indonesia played and bowled. We struggled a lot in the middle. As a senior batting unit, we need to adapt to these conditions and play in a positive way.

England announce 15-member squad for 3rd Test against Pakistan

Birmingham [UK], September 2 (ANI): The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for the third and final Test of the three-match series against Pakistan.

Fast bowler Brydon Carse was not considered for selection after he was briefly arrested outside a bar in Derby and subsequently left out of England’s squad for the second Test against Pakistan, according to Cricinfo.

Carse was filmed being led away from the bar in handcuffs, with police later confirming that he had been arrested and subsequently de-arrested. Following the incident, he was withdrawn from England’s squad for the second Test at Lord’s.

Carse was replaced in England’s squad for the second Test by fast bowler Sonny Baker, who has retained his place for the third Test at Edgbaston as well. The only change to England’s squad is the omission of pacer Matt Fisher, leaving a 15-member group for the series finale.

Meanwhile, Pakistan made major changes to their Test set-up ahead of the third and final Test against England from September 9, replacing almost half of their squad and releasing head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul following heavy defeats in the first two Tests against Three Lions. Pakistan suffered a 194-run defeat in the second Test, allowing England to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. In the first Test, Pakistan had lost by an innings margin.

PCB released seven players from the squad, including Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Agha, Ali Usman, Aamer Jamal, Awais Zafar and Khurram Shahzad after the loss at Lord’s. In their place, Pakistan have brought in five uncapped players along with Saim Ayub and Abdullah Fazal, who have a combined experience of just 10 matches. The five uncapped players added to the squad are Arafat Minhas, Mohammad Imran Jnr, Saad Baig, Mohammad Imran Randhawa and Razaullah. The PCB also roped in Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke, who are part of Pakistan’s white-ball coaching set-up as head coach and bowling coach, respectively.

England squad for third Test:

Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Sam Cook, Jordan Cox, Ben Duckett, Emilio Gay, Dan Lawrence, Ollie Pope, Ollie Robinson, Joe Root (captain), Jamie Smith (wk), Josh Tongue. (ANI)

IND-W vs HK-W Live Streaming Info, Women’s Asia Cup 2026 match No 7: When, Where, How to Watch India Women Vs Hong Kong Women Live Score, TV Telecast Online

India Women vs Hong Kong Women Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Group A: Harmanpreet Kaur’s India Women cricket team will go up against minnows Hong Kong in their second Group A match of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The Indians got their campaign off with a massive 94-run win over Thailand in their opening game of the tournament last week.

A win over Hong Kong will almost ensure a berth in the semifinals ahead of their all-important clash against arch-rivals Pakistan women team on Saturday. There were, however, a few concerns for India after they collapsed from 108 for 2 at one stage to 137 for 9 – losing 7 wickets for 29 runs. “We are playing T20s so it’s not that every time we will be executing our plans. There will be times when we will probably not execute the plans as great as we would have wanted to and so there will be a downfall,” Indian bowling coach Aavishkar Salvi said in the pre-match press conference in Dubai on Wednesday.

Indian opener Shafali Verma was the top-scorer in their opening match against Thailand with 64. “If you see, there was a comeback also. They came back really well (and) stretched the partnership at the end. Those important runs were contributed from the lower-order batters, which probably created that 160 mark and then after that, you saw how they bowled in the game,” Salvi said.

Hong Kong, on the other hand, began with a heartbreaking six-run loss to Thailand in their opening match of the Asia Cup last week. Chasing 121 to win, the Hong Kong side ended up with only 114 for 7 in 20 overs.
