SAN MARCOS — Texas State baseball won the deciding rubber Sunday against Gonzaga 5-0, moving to 5-2 on the season. Next, it'll host UTSA as the I-35 Rivalry moves to the diamond.
UTSA is coming off a three-game sweep of Dallas Baptist, which will be joining the Pac-12 for the 2027 season solely due to its historic success in baseball. The undefeated Roadrunners (7-0) are rostering five players with on-base plus slugging surpassing 1.000. They've scored 10 or more runs in every game played except one, although this will be their first road game.

Texas State started right-handed pitcher Sam Hall in last week's mid-week game against Baylor in what turned into a bullpen matchup. The Bobcats held their own over four innings before the Bears' bats overwhelmed them.
