The future of Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans is as clear as muddy water right now, with the Pro Bowler unsure if he'll return to the NFC South franchise.

With Evans coming back in 2026, but keeping his options open as free agency begins shortly, there is a real chance that No. 13 won't be a Buccaneer in 2026. Conversely, there's a world where he is, because let's face it, Evans is a Buccaneer through and through.

But one thing in Tampa's favor is the current number of receivers already on the roster.

However, how would head coach Todd Bowles view the receiver room if Evans did, in fact, leave in free agency?

“Is it okay for me to answer that if it happens? I don't want to answer that right now," a smiling Bowles said. "That's a tough one. I don't want to jinx it."

Buccaneers likely planning for all scenarios

The one thing the franchise likely isn't doing is sitting on its hands waiting for Evans' decision. They will be proactive.

Already getting a lay of the land with or without Evans.

The team's current list of receivers with Chris Godwin, Tez Johnson, Emeka Ebguka and Jalen McMillan is good enough to win with, so Tampa Bay won't be down to the bare bones if Evans leaves.

Sure, it would be great if he remained a Buccaneer, but right now, we all eagerly await Mike's decision one way or another.
