Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen puts up 3rd double-double in G League

Portland Trail Blazers rookie Yang Hansen registered his third double-double in the G League on Sunday, helping lead the Rip City Remix against the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Yang finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots in the 118-113 loss at the Chiles Center. He went 5-of-9 from the field in 29 minutes, 5 seconds of work as the Remix dropped to 13-10 in the regular season.

The 16th overall pick tallied nine points and seven rebounds alone in the second half. He once again showcased his skill set in the paint with his array of moves, while also serving as a vertical outlet for his teammates with his size and frame.

Yang has played sporadically this season with the Trail Blazers, averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7 1/2 minutes across 35 appearances. He started for the first time on Dec. 7, totaling four points, five rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.

The 7-footer made his ninth appearance in the G League on Sunday, averaging 16.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.4 blocks while shooting 52% from the field. He has finished in double figures eight times, including a 22-point effort on Jan. 14.

Yang had the chance to log extended minutes on Sunday, with playing time at a premium with the Trail Blazers. The team has been encouraged by his development this season and is eager to watch his continued growth on the court.
