Real Madrid midfield sensation’s recovery likely to take longer than expected

Real Madrid midfield sensation’s recovery likely to take longer than expected

Real Madrid have found themselves in a sticky spot due to injuries this season, with Jude Bellingham, in particular, being one of the victims.

The English international has barely played football this season, racking up around 1,300 minutes of league action. His game time has been marred by injuries.

His latest setback came a few weeks ago when the midfielder was ruled out due to a semitendinosus muscle injury in his left leg. He has since been sidelined.

No return date for Bellingham

A recent report from MARCA has offered an update on Bellingham’s fitness, suggesting that there is still no clarity on the midfielder’s recovery.

It appears the Real Madrid medical staff is not willing to give out a clear timeframe as to when exactly the player might return to action.

It has already been a couple of weeks since Bellingham picked up the fresh injury and everything suggests his recovery will be delayed.

This is a major blow for a Real Madrid team desperately trying to remain on top of the La Liga table, ahead of Barcelona.

The Spanish giants also have an important second leg Champions League match coming up against SL Benfica, where the team holds a slender one-goal lead.

The report cites medical staff that believes Bellingham’s injury is moderate. However, he will still miss key matches in La Liga and Champions League, with some reports claiming he might not return until April.

The Englishman may also miss the Champions League Round of 16 games, should Real Madrid defeat SL Benfica and advance to the next round.

This is not a good sign for Real Madrid or for Bellingham, whose place in the English national team in the upcoming World Cup could be in jeopardy if he continues to struggle with injuries.
