A rugby referee has called full-time on his career after officiating his last game on his 90th birthday.
Nando Di Matteo started refereeing in 1982 and believes he is the "world's oldest rugby referee".
On Friday evening, he took to the field for the last time at Wellingborough RFC in a match between Wellingborough Vets and East Northants Vets.
"I've always said that the day when I feel I couldn't keep up, I would pack it up," he said.
Di Matteo moved to the UK from Italy in 1964 and said he had no interest in rugby before arriving.
He told BBC Radio Northampton's Annabel Amos his first experience with refereeing came when he was asked to officiate a game at his son's school in Wellingborough, despite not knowing the rules.
"I really enjoyed it, so I went to do a course," he said.
He admitted it took time to learn the rules and positions, so he studied books and watched matches before taking up the whistle officially. His first formal game came 44 years ago when Bedford Queens played Bedford Wanderers.
Leo Plant, chair of Wellingborough Rugby Club, said: "It's a massive achievement to be able to do it for that long and be such a servant to the game".
He added that Di Matteo had refereed matches involving three generations of his own family, including himself, his father and his son.
"I think we've all had a red or yellow card during our time," he said.
Inspiring the next generation of referees
Although Friday's match at Wellingborough marked his retirement, Di Matteo said it might not be the last time he is called upon.
"I'm sure the club will call me on Sunday morning [to referee]," he quipped.
He has offered to help develop younger referees at the club.
"I've been trying to get younger referees," he said. "I could coach them at the club - I've got couple of guys around 18."
Di Matteo has also made headlines before due to his unusual post-match tradition.
"I enjoy a Guinness and a banana after a game," he said. "Nothing has changed - I'm still having them."
