UT’s Barker nets career-high 29, but A&M prevails, 82-7

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Despite a career-best performance from Janiah Barker, No. 21 Tennessee fell 82-74 to Texas A&M on February 19, 2026, marking their third consecutive loss. Barker, a senior forward, dominated with 29 points and 10 rebounds in her first game against her former team, but the Lady Vols’ furious late-game rally fell just short.

The Lady Vols (16-9, 8-5 SEC) trailed by as many as 18 points before a 10-0 fourth-quarter surge narrowed the gap to 76-74 with just over two minutes remaining. However, the Aggies (11-11, 4-9 SEC) responded with six unanswered points to secure their first road win over a ranked opponent since 2021.

The Aggies set the tone early with a 10-0 opening run and maintained their lead throughout the contest, aided by a season-high 11 three-pointers. Tennessee will look to snap its losing streak when it visits No. 11 Oklahoma on Sunday.
