'Everything on table' to find new assistant - Robins

Stoke City manager Mark Robins has said that "everything remains on the table" as he begins the search for a new assistant manager.

Robins' number two Paul Nevin left the Championship club earlier this week.

"He goes with our best wishes and thanks for the work that he's done," Robins told BBC Radio Stoke.

"What happens next is important and everything remains on the table but I want to give some time for things to settle down first."

Nevin joined Stoke in January 2025 shortly after Robins was appointed manager.

The pair kept Stoke in the Championship by just two points last season but this campaign they sit 14th, five points outside the play-off places.

"In the short term, you're obviously a member of staff down but we've got good coaches and a way of working that's good," said Robins.

"We have to think about what we want moving forward. I haven't put a time frame on it. Things change and we want to give ourselves some thinking time."

The positive news for Stoke has been a move into "awesome" new facilities at their Clayton Wood training ground.

Robins will hope the £10 million investment by chairman John Coates can have a impact on the club's growing injury list, with defender Bosun Lawal, goalkeeper Viktor Johansson and forward Divin Mubama among those currently sidelined.

"It is awesome," he said. "But it comes with strings attached. The investment has been made to try and take us to another level. It is an elite building. It will attract players, no doubt about it.

"You can see the investment John Coates has made is hugely significant. And we've got to make sure that his dreams, our dreams, are all fulfilled."
